I dremeled the inlet cutouts to match the aluminum rings, both left and right. I taped and waxed the rings and put them in the position for best match. The two cowl halfs were assembled with clecoes and I turned the cowlings upside down, with the inlet rings in place. I mixed a large batch of West epoxy, flox and microballons and poured around the inlets. When it was almsot cured I cut the splite line between the cowlings with a scalpel and then gently removed the two cowls from each other and then removed the rings. The result was excellent and the rings fit perfectly. There will be some minor body work and sanding to get the inlet radius more accurate.
