Brief Description: Rec SuperFil/Taped Cowling for Filling Holes
I received the remaining items in my Aircraft Spruce order: SuperFil and more clamps. I will use the SuperFil to fill in the holes and pinholes in the canopy fairing and cowlings. Four camlocs in the center of the aft top cowling were removed (not easily or quickly). There were original holes next to the camloc holes that needed to be filled. I had a lot of trouble removing the snap rings holding the grommets in place. I finally got the snap rings off using a #1 screwdriver and twisting the center of the snap ring. I taped the holes in the top of the cowling that need to be filled. The holes will be filled from the inside and then filled from the outside with tape applied to the inside. One grommet hole had a partial hole to be filled, so I wrapped a 3/8" tube with duct tape until the tube fit snugly in the hole. The duct tape should act as a release for the SuperFil in the hole.
