I cut two 31'' strips 2 1/4'' wide out of .050'' material for the side cowling support brackets. I cleaned up the edges on the grinding wheel. With Bob's help, we tightened up the strap around the bottom cowl and added some 2x4's to pull up the bottom tight against the belly skin. I laid out the rivet spacing along the side supports at 1''. Bob and I drilled #40 holes in each support. We clamped the supports to the bottom cowling and I used the angle drill to backdrill thru the cowling. We took the top cowl off so that I could sand the front edges smooth for a better fit.
