Brief Description:  Change Angle of Panel-Modifying Cutouts

Inserted the instrument panel a few times to check for interference points with the subpanel in order to get the panel angle to the appropriate eight degrees. I trimmed the top line of the map box cutout by another 1/4" so that this would allow the bottom of the panel to be moved forward. Smoothed the edges with the die grinder. I cut another 3/4" of the top line of the audio panel cut-out and smoothed those edges. Drilled the instrument panel center rib and panel to #19. The two side rib flanges are less than 3/4" long and the K1000-08 nutplates won't fit. I looked in the Aircraft Spruce catalog and found miniature nutplates that might work. With the enlarged holes, we were able to push the lower end of the panel forward and get the panel angle to eight degrees. I found some 3/4x3/4x.062" brackets to serve as reinforcement brackets around the map box cutout area. I found that with the adjustment to the F-689 control rod (shortened) and the movement of the panel forward by 1/4", the control stick does not hit the AirGizmos and should not need to be cut down.
