Brief Description: Bent brackets for Inst Panel/Drill out skin rivet
The two attach brackets that will be screwed to the corners of the panel need to have an angle of 8° in them. I placed each bracket lengthwise in the vise and squeezed it until I had the bracket bent to 82°. Jeff Paden helped me take the panel out of the fuselage.
I drilled out one rivet in the aft top skin along the bulkhead. A spacer had been placed under it but the spacer had not been bent to the proper angle. As a result, the skin had a slight dent in it.
I took out the AN-4 bolt from the tail spring and started to insert the tailwheel rod. It was difficult to insert, so I pulled it back out.
Marked the edges of the left elevator and HS tips for trimming.
