Brief Description: Torqued Spark Plugs in Top and Bottom of Cylinders
With Randy Brooks' help, the four Champion aviation spark plugs were torqued into the bottom cylinders at 32 ft-lbs. The range of torque for these plugs is 30-35 ft-lbs. The adapters for the automotive plugs were torqued to 25 ft-lbs. The auto plugs called for a torque value of 20-30 Newton-meters. Converting this to ft-lbs, the torque value is 14.75-22.12 ft-lbs. I torqued the adapters to 22.6 N-m, or 16.6 ft-lbs, or 200 in-lbs. Anti-seize was applied to threads on all plugs and adapters.
I checked the tightness of all firewall forward fuel line fittings. The procedures for checking the fuel flow call for the fuel line going into the carburetor to be disconnected. This was done and the fitting and the carburetor were capped.
