Brief Description: Spars

Cleaned up scratched rivets on Scotchbrite wheel. Found that the top set of flange strips were not lining up because spacer bars were too long. Using a file, filed off top of each spacer bar so that bars and flange strips do not touch. Cleaned up filing marks on Scotchbrite wheel. Reassembled doubler, bars, flange strips and spar, leaving out end rivets at each end of bars 1, 3, & 4. Spar fit well together w/other components. Visually checked rivet holes and holes in each bar are slightly misaligned.
Called Van's, talked w/John, who gave me number of Wayne @ Phlogiston, who assembles the spars. Wayne said it sounded like I got a mixed-up set. His solution is to enlarge holes in spacer bars, not holes in spar/doubler webs, or drill holes to -5 rivet diameter and he would send me -5 rivets.
