Brief Description: Installed Flaps/Adjusted Control Rods
With the ailerons properly adjusted, Walt Halloran helped me install the flaps. The left hinge went in fairly easily. The right flap caused us some problems. The hole in the hinge bracket was just a little too high with the aileron installed with control stops limiting the aileron movement. We were able to just get the hinge pin thru the hole, but it rubbed on the aileron.
This hole should be enlarged downward before taking the hinge pin out again.
The flap control rods were temporarily attached to the flap actuator. The angles of the flaps were compared to the ailerons and the flap rods were adjusted accordingly. The bolts and washers were installed thru the flap actuator holes and the flap control rods. The flaps and ailerons now line up with the wing tips and each other.
