The ailerons were measured in relation to the wing tips and to each other to determine a neutral position. The push-pull tubes were attached to the sticks and aileron movement was checked in the up and down positions. The aileron control rod bearings were rotated to either shorten or lengthen the rods so that the ailerons would be level with the wing tips.
Both ailerons were verified to be 29* up and 15* down, which are within Van's parameters. Van's parameters are 25*-30* up and 15*-17* down.
