Brief Description:  Vertical Stabilizer

Skeleton was pinned to the jig. Steve Burwell, building an RV-6A, had completed his vertical stab last week and left the temporary vertical centerpiece. Clamped forward spar to centerpiece. Checked dimensions and angles of skeleton. Clecoed skin to skeleton and clamped skin tight. Found that left top half of forward spar did not line up w/prepunched skin. Using #41 drill bit, drilled holes for rivets into skeleton except for misaligned forward spar section. Took clecos off right side of skin and also took out the one cleco on the left skide of the tip rib holding the forward spar. Held forward spar so that centerline lined up with skin and drilled out two holes on forward spar closest to tip rib. Clecoed skin to those 2 holes. Clecoed right side of skin back down to skeleton and then drilled rest of forward spar. Visitors-Walt and Pat Spencer
