Brief Description:  Drilled Bottom of Horns/HS to Fuselage

I cleaned up a scrap piece of aluminum and cut it in two. These two pieces were taped to a piece of hardwood. A #30 hole was drilled thru all of these to be used as a spacer between the two elevator horns. The horns were clamped together and the second horn was drilled to #30. All hole were drilled up to 3/16'', with the final hole drilled using a reamer.
The two spacers were found to interfere with rivets already in place on the aft deck. The deck was not riveted per the plans: five rivets were called for and six were used. This spread out the rivet pattern and the two outboard rivets interfere with the spacers. The spacers will have to be modified to clear the rivets.
The fuselage was leveled and the horizontal stab was placed in position. The spacers were set approximately in place and 1/4'' spacers were placed under the rear spar. The HS was set to 0 degrees relative to the fuselage. Pilot holes of #40 and then #30 were drilled in the XX and the HS rear spar. Wingnut clecoes were installed.
