The two spar bolts attaching the fuel side covers that had been removed were reinserted thru the spar.
The fuel selector side covers were modified to fit around the spar bolts. The two inboard spar bolts next to the the bolts holding the side covers were removed. Holes were drilled in the side covers' radius to remove interference over the spar bolts. Other areas on the side covers were trimmed back so that they could be bent properly to screw to the top cover.
The nutplates on the flanges of the top cover were drilled out and moved forward 1/4". Holes in the flanges were enlarged with a #19 bit for the screws. New nutplates were riveted to the flanges. Two V-nutplates and two one-lug nutplates were used, instead of the normal K-1000 nutplates.
