Brief Description: Drilled Right Side Fuel Cover/Pitot Tubing
The right side fuel cover was clamped to the floor stiffener and then marked for the location of the spar bolt with an awl. The fuel cover was drilled for the spar bolt, and then drilled to the floor stiffener for two #8 screws. The floor stiffener was drilled for two nutplates. The rivet holes were countersunk using a #10 bit in the angle drill. The nutplates were riveted with the hand squeezer.
I decided to run the pitot and static tubing thru the side cover forward of the fuselage holes. 3/8'' holes were drilled thru the side cover and 1/4'' plastic grommets were put in place. The tubing was run thru the two holes. A support angle was trimmed and painted so that the tubing could be run thru Adel clamps, then clamped to a stringer on the sidewall. Longer lengths of green pitot tubing were cut to replace the tubing from the Dynon D-100 and the airspeed indicator.
