Brief Description:  Removed P-Lead Ground/Wiring Questions Answered

I talked with Jason-Aerotronics re some questions I had sent him.He straightened me out on alot of the wiring.

I had pulled out the P1 wire off the Master Relay, thinking that it was supposed to go to the Master switch. This was wrong. See 9/21/11 entry. The P1 wire needs to be run from the Master Relay to the Bat side of the Alternator CB. The Bat side is the side that has a wire already on it, carrying electricity to the buss bars below. This will allow the battery to power the panel without the alternator operating.

The ammeter shunt needed to be rewired, which was done. See 9/21/11 entry. The wire from the alternator was rewired to the lower terminal of the shunt. The wire from the shunt to the master relay was removed and will not be used. The wire from the upper terminal of the shunt goes to the Alt side of the Alternator CB. The Amps High and Amps Low wires were also reversed on the shunt. The Amps High wire was placed on the lower center terminal, closest to the Alternator wire. The Amps Low wire was placed above, next to the wire going to the CB.

The P-Lead for the left magneto was removed and the terminal ends cut off. Per Jason, Aerotronics has already accounted for the P-Lead ground on the other side of the P-1 connector. See 9/21/11 entry. The shielding was removed and a new terminal crimped in place. The P-lead was reattached to the mag.

I had misidentified the red/yellow/black wire bundle from the EMS-120 as the primary power wires. I could not determine where the fuel flow transducer power wire was. Jason got me straightened out and I relabeled the wires. The wires were then crimped to the transducer wires, with heat-shrink applied over the splice terminals.
