Brief Description:  Reworked Oil Cooler Mount/MP Sensor Tubing

The large washers were ground down, giving each a flat side so that it would lie closer to the oil cooler, allowing the bolt to be placed closer. The bolt tubes had to be ground down more to fit between the two oil cooler flanges. I attempted to screw the oil cooler into position on the baffle, but was unsuccessful. I took the two baffles off the engine and attempted to attach the oil cooler, but still no success. I found that the bolt holes to the nutplates were not lining up and I took the 3/16" reamer to each hole to align the different pieces. The washers had to be ground down more to move the bolts closer together for the holes. After using the reamer, I found that I had ground into the nutplates and screwed up the threads, so the two nutplates on the edge had to be drilled out and replaced. This was done. The bolts on the outboard side were found to be too short, because the angle bracket attached to the side baffle was 1/8". This is thicker than called for in the plans. New bolts, AN3-43A, need to be ordered. The fittings on the oil cooler were rotated so that they would not be close to the engine mounts.

I received the plastic tee fitting for the manifold pressure sensor tubing. The tee fitting has 1/8" fittings on each end, with a 1/4" fitting in the middle. I cut off about 3" of 1/4"ID tubing and inserted it onto the Dynon sensor and the tee fitting. I cut the 1/8" tubing in half and inserted each end into the tee fitting and then one end into the LightSpeed. The manifold pressure hose and tubing are now complete.
