I began work on trimming the bottom cowling by cutting out the corners for the gear legs. The first cut was about 2'' in from the edge. The clecoes along the firewall sides and bottom were removed. This allowed me to slide the cowling in place and clamp the front to the upper cowling. The gear leg cutouts had to be enlarged to allow the cowling to slide into the correct location. I marked the bottom of the cowling for cutouts and a little trimming of the gear leg cutouts. The cowling was taken off and trimming was completed. The cowling was placed back in place. The sides were marked for excess trimming and this was completed.
