Brief Description:  Drilled/Tapped Canopy Latch/Cut Inside Latch

I drilled the holes in the canopy latch tube to line up with the pilot hole in the handle. The holes were then drilled up to 9/64'' size, but I should have used a #27 bit. I drilled the front hole in the handle and the holes in the tube to #18 size. I used a #27 bit to lengthen the hole in the handle and then tapped the hole with an 8-32 tap. I countersunk the front of the handle. I marked, drilled, and cut the new interior latch to the proper length and cleaned up the edges.
