I dimpled the holes in the canopy center cover strip. With the canopy clecoed and on the fuselage, I measured the distance between the centerline of the canopy bows and the bottom of the canopy sides. I marked the canopy at the proper height for the top of the canopy skirts. While doing this, I found that the front of the canopy sat almost 1/4" higher than the aft end. The front center of the canopy bow sat at the proper height, but the shoulders of the front bow sat at a height much higher than the roll bar. This area probably should have been bent to reduce the height of that area, but I did not notice it. I decided to cut off the bottom of the front bow to be even with the side bows, which would be about 1/8" on each side. This will allow the side skirts to be fitted more properly. I cut off each bottom with the cut-off wheel in the Dremel.
