Brief Description: Vis-Instrument Top Skin Drilled/Dimpled
8th Anniversary of 9/11
I back-drilled a few more holes on each side of the top skin and then used the strap duplicator on each side to finish drilling the holes thru the longeron. The side skin is already riveted to the longeron aft of the instrument subpanel, so I could not drill any of those holes. I drilled out the temporary pop-rivets on the sides, in order to drill the skin to the longeron. I took the top skin off, deburred all of the holes and dimpled them with the pneumatic squeezer. I touched up the ribs and the instrument subpanel with primer, as well as the center bracket and wedge. I riveted the center bracket and wedge to the center rib, using various lengths of rivets. I primed both ends of the canopy support arm.
