Brief Description:  Worked on modifying Crotch Strap Brackets

Made two 4'' brackets out of scrap. These were cleaned up and then positioned on the outboard side of the modified ribs for the control sticks. A stress relief hole was drilled in each bracket and then a V-cut was made. This allowed the bracket to be bent alongside the rib. Pilot holes were drilled in each bracket. Each bracket was clamped in place and drilled to the rib, using the angle drill. Took the control system out. Modified the crotch strap brackets to lay even with the rib flanges. Used the Scotchbrite wheel to grind down the bushings in the Hooker crotch straps. Taking the bushings enlarged the bolt holes. Now an AN6-6A bolt will be needed to fasten the crotch straps. Ordered them and associated hardware from Kevin Landers. Cut the center of one bracket to see if this would alleviate the strain forced upon the bracket because of the closeness of the ribs. Used scrap to make a bracket to tie the bottom together.
