Brief Description: Drilled Aft Top Skin to Bulkheads and Stringers
Used blocks of wood and cargo straps to support and force the aft top skin into place. Back-drilled the remainder of F-607, -608, -609 bulkheads and the stringers flanges to the skin with #40 bit. Drilled all holes from the center down the sides. The straps and boards did not pull the skin tightly against the longeron line, so I clamped boards along each side. This pulled the skin up tightly against the lower skin and longerons. Back-drilled almost all of the holes thru the longerons and skin. Took everything apart and found that I only missed a few holes on each side.
I did not realize until the end of day that I should have drilled out the four temporary pop-rivets that joined the ends of the stringers to the bulkheads. This would have allowed the bulkheads to sit up straighter and allowed a more in-line rivet pattern with the lower rivet lines on the bulkheads.
