Brief Description: Drilled Engine Mount to Firewall
Dave Ross drilled engine mount to firewall. Drilled each hole progressively up to size before working on next hole. The four corner holes had pilot holes in firewall, but the two bottom middle holes did not. Drilled the corner holes up to size by using a steel tube and a drill bit that fit inside tube. The tube's OD was the same as the engine mount bolt. A 3/8'' drill bit was then used to drill hole to proper size. A reamer was then used to clean hole. This procedure was repeated for the other corner holes. The two bottom middle holes were drilled by using a steel tube within a tube inside the mounting hole, along with a smaller 12'' bit. This was the first hole and was increased in size by removing the smaller diameter tube with a matching bit. The bigger tube was then removed and a 3/8'' bit and then a reamer used to finish each hole.
