Brief Description:  Engine Order

Called Superior and changed shipping information to Dad's house. Will store engine in the barn until ready to work on it at Dave's. Confirmed that there are no additional charges for shipping prep or long-term storage. Asked Dana-Superior about insurance during shipping. They offer $20,000 coverage for $117 and will call me to offer it prior to shipping the engine. Dana can also ask shipper to call prior to delivery, but they will charge me $5 for this.

I called Superior and LightSpeed Engineering for more information re the Plasma II system. Bill Peterson-Superior did not have much info on the operation. Talked with Klaus Savier/LightSpeed and he recommended the Direct Crank Sensor vs the Hall Effect Module. The Hall module replaces a mag and runs a chance of mechanical failure. The Direct Crank Sensor fits to the flywheel and is cheaper at $678. Need to call Superior to switch from the Hall to the Direct Crank Sensor.

Klaus recommended that a 5-amp breaker be placed next to the key switch, in case of a failure with the key switch. No other switch will be necessary.
