Drilled #40 holes in aluminum top plate on 1" spacing. Placed washer between mount plate and top plate to simulate 1/16" squeeze on K&N filter. Matched drilled rear portion of FG bowl up to bend.
Slit FG at bend with dremel tool.
Put 2 washers between carb flange and mount plate to simulate future engine sag, gaskets, and control cable mount. Mounted airbox with scoop in place of final check of FAB inlet bend.
Top forward edge of FAB inlet was 3 1/16" below cowl skin.
