Connected the most basic circuit of a 12V battery, two wires, and a 'tower' of white LED's in a socket. With a 5" cosmetic mirror behind the LED's. the effect in a dark living room was dramatic.
Whether I decide to wire up two STROBE LED units for each wingtip, or a single, will depend on the testing for range of visibility. I will almost certainly fabricate two Green and two Red LED's for each position light. Reflectors are also a certainty there.
Vertical Avionics --- inexpensive and impressive components. Low amperage, no shielded wiring required.
