Brief Description:  Canopy - "missing" parts

Got a response back from Vans Tech Support on the reinforcement for the tip-up canopy. Wasn't sure of p/n to order. Will do that soon. However, the 'missing' components that I couldn't find were located ... in the last place I looked.

A couple of years ago, and before the year of remodelling, and the move, I had a few parts that I couldn't identify at the time. They appeared to be parts for the sliding canopy and so I set them aside. The F-643, and a piece of channel labeled F-644.

After getting the tech support answer, I looked in my 'scrap bin' for some material to fabricate the missing parts ... and the 'light' went off in my head. The 'missing parts' were a perfect match for the scraps I found. Needed only to refer to Dwg #30, and fabricate the two F-644 braces from channel. The F-643 was ready to go. That eliminates the last of the 'left over' parts, too.

Fabricated and deburred F-643 and two F-644's. Spent some time reviewing the correct position and rivet patterns. Dwgs #51, 52 and details of the 'canopy hinge release'.

The F-643 is the long brace to the right in #2, and the F-644 R&L will be the short brace to the left in #2. (Dan Reeves? website - RV-7A)
