Long day with a lot of tasks, including some wasted effort on the tip-up canopy release mechanism. (Later)
Went through the subpanel compentents of the structure and strenthened the hinge pivot assembly. I think that later kits pre-punched and pre-cut the subpanel to ensure that both sides of the hinge assembly were attached to the sumpanel. But in the RV-6/6A plans the details of the attachment were not called out well. Either way, I added a small angle from scrap and attached the F-??? channel on the hinge block inboard side to the subpanel. This secures the mid-section of the subpanel from wobbling around without the forward skin in-place, too.
Riveted in components of the canopy hinge release mechanism but do not intend to make it funtional in flight, so decided to not finish this further.
Worked on the edges of the plexiglass canopy, filing, scrpings, and smooting the edges to minimize the stress cracks potential.
Various other tasks, including planning for wiring, and mounting the VP-100.
