Brief Description:  Canopy - Rear Window Plexi

Removed the rollbar and rear window plexi. Reattached the plexi only and evaluated the details of the 'fit' especially along the upper aft portion. The plexi was flat across the center (left to right) and slightly concave from from to back. The combination resulted in a rather poor fit to the top skin in that area and a significant potential for rain/water leaking at that location. Had previously considered and testing reshaping plexiglass scraps so it made sense to consider reshaping that portion of the window.

Removed the protective film and thoroughly cleaned my workbench. First worked it on the workbench inverted on a clean, flat, flexible surface, with supports on either side. This allowed the 'flatness' of the center section to be evenly heated with the heat-gun and pressed downward with another flat and flexible surface on top. Some adjustment in shape was achieved. Second, clecoed the plexi back in the skin without the rollbar, and inserted a flat, flexible 1 ft x 1 ft surface under the plexi center (on a pole) with some upward pressure. Then heated the center and aft areas evenly. Let cool to 'room temp' (about 85 degs) before removing the supports.

Results - a new and acceptable curvature of the entire center section, which overall has a better convex nature, There is still a slight separation with the skin but a second attempt and adjustment on the holes will resolve that.

Worked on re-drilling the replacement portion of the rollbar (pictures tomorrow).
