Brief Description: Fabricated the F-6118 bracket, locate pedals
Did a little 'hanger flying' to determine if the estimated location of the rudder pedal weldment would be comfortable and permit clearances. Mounted the center brace (F-6118) but clamped everything else in place.
It seems that there is little guidance on the 'tilt angle' of the rudder pedals themselves except during the drilling of the master brake cyl lower attach bolt. The pedals, ideally, would be 'centered' in a narrow V below the weldments but could be adjusted a little further aft than centered below the weldment without distortion of the pedal movement. Think of this as an ITALIC (leaning V). For a long-legged pilot, this position allows better contact with the 'rudder pedal' (weldment below the actual brake pedal). And, still allows good toe contact with the brake pedals themselves.
Will setup the weldment to be relocated (ground adjustments only) - to a 'middle' and 'aft' position if I decide to ever sell this plane and do that RV-9A.
