Brief Description:  HS/Elev adjustments

Further adjustments on the elevators. Because of the slight difference between the Lt & Rt elev horns, the stops for UP & DOWN must be notched to 'stop' both horns equally. Otherwise, control stick forces would put pressure on the 'mated' elevator horn and unequal force on the center bearing and bolt.

Notched the UP horn stop (aft side) slightly 1/8" to create simultaneous stops on both horns in that direction. Then had to drill out a single rivet to remove the DOWN stop because there was no room to file it. After making a notch for the Lt horn to equalize travel, I discovered that the DOWN travel exceeded the maximum (Ref pg 15-2).

Maximum Up/Down 30/25
Minimum Up/Down 25/20

Fabricated a new DOWN stop and re-measured, within limits.
Actual Up/Down 26.9/21.6

Photo #3 shows an area of interference on the Leading Edge of the Lt elev. Appears to be only in the inbd 6" section. Reshaping the curve without tightening proved useless and interfernce is totally UNACCEPTABLE. Will drill out blind rivets, reform the edges, and re-rivet tighter curve.
