Layed out the template for the left wing leading edge light option. Will be the landing light so it's on the pilot side. The aimpoint will be tilted down a little more thna the taxi light on the right wing.
The instructions call for stripping off the enclosure of the 'light' and discarding everything but the reflector and halogen bulb. The glass cover and plastic housing are not used.
The first step is the template, well documented and easy to position. Roughed in the hole and carefully trimmed the edges away to avoid winkling the skin. The mounting plate gets trimmed for the dimensions of the distance between ribs, and everything deburred.
Used a small rasp to carefully enlarge the cutting and then polished the edges with a buffing wheel on the drill.
The plexi cover is too large to fit through the opening and requires trimming. The quetion is method of cutting to avoid cracking it, and how to drill plexi for the screws.
