Brief Description: Rt wing - flap brace & top skin
Worked on alignment tweaking for the Lt wing flap by moving the brace fore or aft along the skin. Drilled a small number of #40 holes to set the brace but cautious of commitment. Clecoed and checked fit.
Applied a strip of UHMW tape on the Lt wing underside of top skin to protect the flap. Think that applying this on the flap would prevent scratches better, but be a major task to remove for painting.
Started layout and positioning of the Rt wing top skin (F-603). Used the same techniques as for the Lt wing.
NOTE: In review of Dwg #21 (not updated) - noticed that the rear spar rivet spacing is called-out to be 1" - however, in re-checking the Lt wing, I see that I used 1 1/4". The difference is that 9 rivets on that wing represent the same length on the Rt wing with 11 rivets. Will have to contact Vans for guidance.
