Brief Description:  Flap brackets - Left and Right

Continuing to fill time - waiting for the garage construction and tools. Decided to fabricate the flap brackets. Bandsaw and 1" belt sander are awesome tools to work with aircraft aluminum.

Outlined the measurements for each component (FL-606A, 606B and 406C) on each of the stock materials per plans Dwg #17. According to the Orndorff video, this bracket cannot be assembled on the bench. It requires a specific riveting sequence to be able to squeeze the rivets. NOTE: The FL-606B plate is NOT bent yet.

After fabricating all three components it was time to test on the flap for fit. This lead to cutting 1/8" from the 3.0" length of FL-606A and filleting (rounding) the flange side to seat properly against the front of the flap spar. No reason to see a conflict with this fitting adjustment. At this point the end ribs (inboard end) of the flaps are not riveted. Again, this is a requirement of the assembly sequence.
