Brief Description:  W-621 Flap Braces

Used the fly-cutter today for the first time. Practiced on some .025 scrap and then set-up for lightening holes on the W-621 Flap Braces. Cut them per Dwg #17, but slightly smaller than the 2 1/4" Dia specified. Wanted to err on the side of avoiding the fly-cutter hitting the upturned sides of the alum braces.

Marked the first hole at 5" and then all others at 3" intervals. Note the overall length of the braces is changed from 56" to 55 1/2" per note R1 on Dwg #17. Assume that this is required for more clearance on the aileron control linkage. Will prime the braces before final assembly, too.

Did NOT cut the side to separate for the main spar at this time. Will adjust when the brace is being prepared for assembly. All holes where deburred with tool and smoothed with ScotchBrite pads.

Reviewed Orndorff tape on the wing assembly and jigging.
