Used the die-grinder to notch out the Rt wingtip and insert the wingtip NAV/Strobe light insert. Inverted the pattern used on the Lt wingtip and double-checked dimensions before cutting.
Again, the cut is a little crude and doesn't matter much as there is a substantial fiberglass & epoxy interface that will have to be repaired in any case. No amount of precision will make that task much different. The main task is to get the alignment right.
In this photo, it can be seen that I flipped the wiring connections a bit, putting the two strobe tower LEDs in the row of four sockets, and moving two Grn LEDs to the aft surface to maximize the direction of the NAV lights. Will have to re-wire the Lt wingtip in the next few days.
Probably will hold off on further fiberglass work for now and do all the fairings and wingtips together as the weather warms (It's almost 100 degs for a high now.)
