After some additional testing of the light switches, circuits and concepts, decided that the only logical 'next step' was to cut-out the fiberglass wingtip and insert the NAV light component.
The instructions 'could' have been a little more clear on the method to measure the lines to cut, but it's like Mike A says, 'measure with a micrometer, mark with a crayon, and cut with a die-grinder'. It's an inexact science and it's a healtly dose of guts and caution.
Don't cut too much, too soon, and anticipate the end result with a cautious 'final cut' and lots of trimming. Pretty happy with the result and it will be a fair amount of epoxy work to adhere, fill, and shape the end product but it's a big step in the right direction. A lot of work remains on this task.
The plan remains to finsih the left wing end to end and then move to the right, and the empennage. Receive more wiret today, and expect another electrical supply order soon. Need to begin research on epoxy needs.
