Brief Description: Fabricated mounting plate for voltage regulator an
I recieved my 22,000 uF, 40v capacitor and two 1-3/8" diameter clamps from Aircraft Spruce, and layed out a mounting plate for the cap and the Rotax supplied Ducati voltage regulator. I used the 3/32" thick aluminum from one of my wing fixtures for the plate which will provide a rigid mounting surface and a nice heat spreader.
I drilled two holes for M5 rivnuts to mount the capacitor clamps, and 4 M6 clearance holes to mount the plate on vibration isolation pads with threaded studs. Two of these holes will also be used to mount the regulator.
The assembly will be mounted on the cabin side of the firewall in the future.
