I removed the cardboard template from the firewall, aligned it to the firex foam material and then cut it to shape with a razor and scissors. I then measured, cut and fit the side pieces for the motor mount channel.
Fit looks pretty good. I then marked all of the through holes needed with an awl and circled the areas with a sharpie pen.
I bought a fairly inexpensive set of punches for soft materials on Amazon, and will cut the hole when the tools arrive.
