Brief Description:  Engine Control Cable Relocation Part 1

Worked on Relocating the engine control cables due to the fact I have customized and relocated my throttle quadrant aft and inboard a few inches. With the location of my throttle quadrant, the original holes in the aft side of the gear tower would not align with my control cables causing them to bind. I took some measurements and decided I would need to move the holes about 1 1/2 inches inboard to align with the throttle quadrant. I found I would be able to use the most inboard hole and relocate the other two holes

I fabricated a doubler out of scrap .032 aluminium and marked the location of the one cable hole I would be able to use, This would be useful as an algnment hole for the doubler. I drew out the location of the rivet holesI would need and the location of the other two cable holes. I drilled these holes to 3/32. With the doubler clecoed in place I drilled the other two cable holes up to 11/32 thru the gear tower using a step drill.

On other task I wanted to take care of was to try to locate where the control cable clevise should connect to the throttle lever by measuring the arc that the lever travels from idle to full throttle. My hope was I could match the required travel of the fuel servo arrm that the throttle connects to.
