Today, we cut out the cowling for an oil door. Next, we trimmed the oil door and installed the hinges, etc. After that we installed 1/4 turn latches. The finished oil door looked good. In Image #1, you can see all the notes we made to keep our orientation. When I first started 1.5 years ago, I didn't understand the importance of labeling every thing. You can also see the 1/4 turn latches installed. They installed completely different from the Milspec flush ones. We decided to use these since they can be opened without a screw driver whereas the Milspec ones look so much neater on the cowl.....We hope to do a weight and balance next week.
