Brief Description:  Air box riveted-Foam ramp cut to shape

Today we took the air box off the carb and riveted it together and also rivet the carb heat inlet. See Image #1.The white wire on top of the air box is the carb temp probe. .... We then put the lower cowl on & carefully enlarged the hole in the foam "ramp" until it matched the air box. See Image #2. There is a good fit here. Then we took the lower cowl off again. Nell couldn't believe that we had to take it off and on so many times. I could not have done it without her though for I had earlier tried and failed to do it by myself. .... Tomorrow we will stand the cowl up on end and lay up 3 layers of glass inside the foam and then hold it in place with the balloon. Image #3 shows Nell blowing up the balloon trying to stretch it so it will be easier........ We are now at 1400 hrs. and 18 months total building time.
