Brief Description:  Air box fit, drilled, & carb heat door fabricated

First, we cut the "nose" off the air box so that it would match the top plate that we had previously fit to the cowl. We, then, put the air filter in the air box, installed the top plate, pressed it down, & drilled the box and the top plate to the bend line. See Image #1. We then installed the air box on the carb, installed the cowl and found that the opening for the air box/top plate lined up well with the air scoop. We then took the cowl off, removed the air box and finished the top plate from the bend line to the air box. ..... We then made a template of cereal box card board and kept trimming it until we had a good fit one inch back from the nose of the top plate. See Image #2. We then cut a carb heat door from .040” aluminum, using the template as a guide. As seen in Image #3 we have near perfect fit. Tomorrow we will cut a hole for the carb heat inlet using the door as a guide.
