Brief Description: Rear baffles riveted to side baffles
Today, Claude was back, PTL! WE took the mounted oil cooler off after seeing that it fit perfectly. We then riveted the left side and both left rear baffles together. It required some trimming of the out board rear baffle to get it to fit in behind the rear cylinder. We then cut the hole for the blast tube using a Unibit. All seemed to fit well after we found that we had to drill out a couple of rivets at back that were interfering with the fitting around the #4 cylinder and substituting flush rivets. Then we riveted the right side together and also cut a blast tube in it also for the mag. We still must mount the air intake flange for the cabin heat muff on the right rear wall and cut a blast tube on the right front floor for the alternator. We also have to drill some holes in the fingers that wrap around the cylinders. We have decided to use safety wire. It’s been a long week but it feels good to see some work drawing to a close. Next week we start on the air seals.
