Brief Description: Fit spinner- Mounted prop, back plate, & extension
|

Yesterday, we had laid out our paper template to for cutouts on spinner. However, there was some distortion so today, I brought out some cereal box cardboard and we redid the template. After measuring it multiple times, I covered the marks on the spinner with electrician's tape and then cut well inside the lines with a cutoff wheel on a Dremel tool. As was expected we had to the ease up on the lines and just beyond them using a sanding drum on the Dremel. After many fittings, in Image #1, you can see that we have almost perfect fit with approximately 1/16" clearance between the prop and the spinner. As I said earlier, Sensenich had sent us the incorrect bolts and prop extension but the correct prop. I called them and in less than 24 hours, I had the correct items. What great customer service! We then banged on the prop extension on to the prop and backing plate. This can be seen in Image #2. I thought that the fit would be looser since we had driven one extension on before. It may have been a LITTLE easier the second time but it still took a heavy hammer and heavy hand. We then put both the front and rear backing plates and the prop and spinner together as can be seen in Image #3 and we still have a great fit with the contour of the prop matched exactly. The sliding pin contour duplicator works like a charm. Tomorrow we will try to mount the prop and extension onto the crank. I hope that it will not need any heavy pounding on the crank bearings!
