Brief Description:  Worked on mounting strips for Cowl Camlocks

We continued working on the mounting strips for the Camlocks on the top of the cowl. We are using .060 2" wide stock and today I finished cutting the "dental work" on the strip. As can be seen in Image #1 I am using a pneumatic cut off wheel. As I was cutting the strips, Claude was cleaning them up on the Scotch Brite wheel. Then we did a trial fit on the fire wall. I think that they will fit OK so tomorrow maybe we can fit them and drill them for #3 rivets. We will not rivet them on however until we cut the top cowl to length and this will come later when we can get the prop on. The heat index again was greater than 110 and higher than that in the hangar so we had to stop early. We did ride our bikes but we even had to cut that short fear of heat stroke. I think that we will be running into a late fall finish rather than early fall because of our having to cut our work days and also because I think we are getting tired after working 5 days a week on this project for 14 months without a break.
