Brief Description:  Nav antenna-ELT-Nav lights-Heated pitot wired

We installed an Archer antenna in the right wing tip. We had to drill out 4 nut plates and install the antenna under them and re-rivet them.(See image #1) This will ground the antenna to the metal wing. We also installed the strobe and nav light. Next week we sill put the wing tip back on the wing, hopefully permanently.
We had a gap between the left wing tip and the wing and today, we filled it with microbaloons and West epoxy. Now we will have to sand it after the epoxy dries. See Image #2.
I finally got a tool to swage on a telephone cord tip so that we could install the ELT wire into the remote instrument panel control. The ELT installation is now complete if the inspector doesn't require us to put an external antenna for it.
We now have a raging forest fire just outside of Waycross burning in the Okefenokee swap and surrounding area. It has now jumped Highway #1 and is moving through a new area. In Image #3 you can see the huge smoke plume just behind the airport (KAYS). So far the airport and our house are not threatened but many have been evacuated and the fire fighters who are flying Chinook helicopters from AYS say that without rain the fire might burn all summer. This is said to be the largest forest fire in Georgia history. Here I thought that the folks in Caliifornia were crazy to live where forest fires are a big threat!
