Brief Description: Nav-Wing tip wired & mounted-Com 1&2 antennas
We turned the rt. wing tip up and connected the strobe, nav. light and nav. antenna wires to the nav. antenna and mounted the wing tip I hope for the last time. Things seem to fit well! Image #1 shows the finished product. All the strobes and nav. lights still work! We then made 2 mounting/backing plates for the 2 com. antennas and drilled them and the skin out for the antennas. Com 1 antenna is mounted in the left gear leg mount just in front of the spar box. See image #2. Com 2 antenna is mounted on the right side just behind the spar box and next the outside rib. We will have access to it when we remove the floor covers. We sanded off the primer from the inside skin and didn't prime the backing plates so they would be grounded to the skin and the antennas. We still have the Archer wing tip marker beacon antenna to mount in the left wing tip and the pitot and static plumbing to complete before removing the instrument panel for riveting the skins.
