Brief Description: Fitting lens to wing tips-Wiring GRT EIS
Claude brought a belt sander from home today and he finished trimming and fitting the lens to the wing tips. He and the belt sander did a wonderful job. There is almost a perfect fit! While he was doing that, I began wiring the GRT EIS. I sorted out all the EGT and CHT wires and have them labeled and ready to go through a 1/2 inch bushing. I plan to mount the bushing in the center of the firewall and then route the wires to each side of the engine. I began to sort out the wires from the other serial connection. I am having some difficulty finding where some go, so I will call Aerotronics again for help. I hope they don't get tool tired of me! When we removed the ADI battery which was held on a shelf behind the subpanel, the bottom was pulled off by the industrial strength Velcro. Claude made an aluminum plate, screwed it to the ADI case and reapplied the Velcro. Now it should be stable on the platform. The fire is still raging in the swamp and forest just west of the airport (KAYS) and the smoke is rather heavy at times with reduced visibility. The fire fighters are gaining a little ground they say. 4 helicopters are refueling here and then rushing back out. The crews really are beginning to look tired! .
