Brief Description:  Moved instrument panel-Worked on subpanel

We marked the center rib flange for rivets and drilled it in assembly to firewall. We did this with the forward skin in place so it would line everything up right......The instrument panel was delivered to my home last night and today I asked Trent Cady if he would move it out to the airport in his truck which he did. See image #1. We have a airspeed on the top left. Next down comes the Trutrak autopilot that will fly the localizer and the glide slope with information it receives from the GRT EFIS on its right and the Garmin 430 which is second down in the radio stack below the Audio panel. We have an Icom Com radio below that and a Garmin transponder below that. Just to the right of the EFIS is a TruTrak ADI with battery backup. Below is an altimeter, achometer and a Garmin 396 with weather. This way we have backups to the EFIS if our electical system goes down. .... After we spent not some little bit of time ogling the panel, we started doing some measurements so we could alter the subpanel to make it fit the airframe. We found that we had to remove a minimal amount from the left rib so the GRT EFIS would fit. We made a doubler to strengthen the altered rib and it may be stronger now than it was before alterations.(See image #2) The alteration of the center subpanel for the radio stack will be more extensive but we will NOT have to cut the center rib since the radio stack was moved down to lower edge of the panel and the switches moved up under the rib. Tomorrow, we will finish some measurements and probably cut the central subpanel....I talked with the FAA man who maintains our ILS at KAYS and he is going to give us some pointers on wiring the panel.
