Brief Description:  Gascolator & doubler, fuel line, wing gap seal

We countersunk, dimpled, and riveted the gascolator doubler in place. Some of the rivets required "innovative" techniques because they were in places difficult to get to. I had a rivet gun head that is 3 inches long and has a right angle head that you can install a regular rivet head driver rather having one built in. This proved invaluable for riveting the doubler to the angle seen in Image #2. Then we installed the 3/8ths. in. gas line from the auxiliary pump to the gascolator. You can see that we had several compound bends in it to give it room to flex and also to get around the firewall angle. (Image #2) We did these with the spring blender. I find that I can use this better than the other 3 benders I have. We now have the firewall additions complete except for the pressure sensors. We will not be able to hang the engine yet though because the vibration isolators are on back-order from Vans and will not be available for at least another MONTH. I tried to find some on the net but so far have not been successful.... The wing root fairing on the right side had too large a gap after having to move the nut plates on the wing root. We will have to make another one. Today, though, I mounted the right one and found that the gap was JUST right. Monday on to the forward deck structure! Our panel comes Tuesday!
